Some chromatic height computations for homotopy fixed points of iterated topological Hochschild homology

Abstract

For an E∞\mathbb{E}_{\infty}-ring spectrum RR of chromatic height kk, the trace method and the chromatic redshift imply that TnT^n-fixed point of nn-fold iterated topological Hochschild homology of RR has chromatic height at most k+nk+n. In this paper, we compute these heights for HFpH\mathbb{F}_p, HZH\mathbb{Z} and the pp-complete connective image-of-JJ spectrum jpj_p for all primes and n≥1n\geq1, which are exactly n−1n-1, nn and n+1n+1, respectively. Our method is based on properties of Wilson spaces and relative topological Hochschild homology over MU\mathrm{MU}.
