We work on connected, noncompact n-dimensional Riemannian manifolds (M,g),n≥3, that are complete with respect to dg and have noncompact boundary and bounded geometry. We study the existence of positive solutions in C∞(M)∩L2∗(M)∩L∞(M) to the Yamabe problem: ⎩⎨⎧−Δgu+4(n−1)n−2Rgu∂ν∂u+2(n−1)n−2Hgu=C0un−2n+2 in M,=C1un−2n on ∂M, where C0=YC(M),C1=YC(M)Cdˉn−22, the parameter C≥0 is fixed, and YC(M):=infu∈Cc∞(M)\{0}(∥u∥L2∗(M)2∗+C∥u∥L2#(∂M)2∗)2/2∗Eg(u). Here Eg is the associated quadratic energy. We assume YC(M)<YC,∞(M) and YC,∞(M)>0, where YC,∞ is the corresponding variational level at infinity. We approach this problem using nonnegative solutions uj∈W∂1,2(Bg(O,j)),j∈N,j≥j0, for which we prove that supj≥j0∥uj∥L∞(Bg(O,j−1))<∞. For C>0, we also prove that, along a subsequence, ∥uj∥L2(Bg(O,j)∩∂M)→dˉ, with 0<dˉ≤C−1/2∗. For C=0, we set dˉ=0.
