A geometric construction of supercuspidal representations

Abstract

We extend the framework of deep level Deligne-Lusztig varieties to the case of arbitrary residue characteristics $p > 0$. As an application, we provide a construction of a large class of (new) supercuspidal representations for unramified $p$-adic groups with arbitrary residue fields, in a purely geometric way.
